From break off shot or from following in off foul the cue ball to be placed anywhere in the baulk area and played in any direction from behind the baulk line.

When breaking, if a ball is potted you now have to nominate your colour, it can be either red or yellow regardless of which colour was potted. If one of each colour is potted, nomination is still required. Failure to nominate is a foul.

Instead of tossing for choice of the break, this is changing to a 'lag', Cue ball behind the baulk line, both players at the same time to play a ball from the baulk line, the ball must strike the bottom cushion and the ball nearest the top cushion behind the baulk line wins the choice of break. Referee to determine which ball is nearest. You must only hit a maximum of two cushions otherwise loss of break.

The two doubles games and the gallon are now 'Scotch doubles' with no comunication between shots.
